The project's key energy source includes VS1, a solar thermal power plant co-located on the same site which offers dispatchable green heat and power 24/7. Vast’s solar thermal technology is ideal for powering renewable fuel production, 30-40% cheaper than other renewable technologies for dispatchable power.

Calix’s co-located world-first, renewably powered carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) demonstration plant will produce near-zero emissions lime and supply captured industrial CO2 emissions to SASF.

Green Hydrogen will be produced from water using an electrolyser with renewable energy.
